Overview Ricosprin 20 Tablet

CardioGuard 20mg tablets function as an anticoagulant, preventing and treating blood clots. This medication lowers the risk of stroke and heart attack by inhibiting clot formation in leg, lung, brain, and heart veins. Frequently prescribed for patients with atrial fibrillation to prevent clot formation, CardioGuard 20mg is also used to reduce post-surgical clotting risks following knee or hip replacements. It can be administered with or without food, consistently at the same time daily for optimal efficacy. Long-term, even lifelong, use may be necessary; discontinuation or dosage alteration should only occur under physician supervision to avoid increased risk of stroke, heart attack, or thrombosis. Lifestyle modifications, such as quitting smoking, adopting a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight management (if needed), further mitigate clotting risks. Increased bleeding propensity (nosebleeds, bruising) is a common side effect; report any concerning symptoms immediately to your doctor. Contraindicated in individuals with severe liver or kidney disease, active bleeding, or concurrent use of other anticoagulants. Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment. Unlike some anticoagulants, routine PT-INR monitoring is unnecessary.

Yes, Ricosprin 20 Tablet is an anticoagulant, preventing blood clots in blood vessels and helping to avoid recurrence. It's used to treat clots in leg veins and lung blood vessels.
Ricosprin 20 Tablet offers several benefits, but it can increase bleeding, even from minor injuries, by reducing blood clotting. Serious, potentially dangerous bleeding requiring immediate medical attention may occur, especially when taken with other blood thinners. Report any bleeding, no matter how slight, to your doctor.
Don't consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking Ricosprin 20 Tablets, as grapefruit can slow Ricosprin's metabolism, increasing the risk of bleeding. If you're also taking a blood thinner like warfarin, avoid foods high in vitamin K (e.g., spinach, Brussels sprouts, mustard greens, broccoli, asparagus, green tea), which can increase clotting. Note that these vitamin K-rich foods don't interact with Ricosprin 20 Tablets.
