How Rolosol Liniment works:
Diclofenac diethylamine, a variant of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) diclofenac, inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators responsible for pain and cutaneous inflammation (redness and swelling). Capsaicin-based rubefacients also provide analgesia by desensitizing nerve endings, thus diminishing pain perception. These agents enhance blood flow to the affected area, producing a comforting warmth. Menthol, a topical analgesic, exerts its pain-relieving effect through a biphasic cooling-warming action that disrupts nerve-mediated pain signals. Camphor, classified as a rubefacient and sometimes an antitussive, similarly increases local blood flow and temperature upon topical application, thereby reducing pain sensations temporarily.
