Overview Scabon P 5% Ointment
Permethrin 5% topical cream (Scabon P equivalent) is a parasiticide indicated for scabies treatment. Scabies is a skin infestation by microscopic mites causing intense irritation. This medication eliminates both adult mites and their eggs. Dosage and application instructions will be provided by your physician; carefully follow the accompanying patient leaflet. Apply to clean, dry, and cool skin. A full body wash 8-14 hours post-application is necessary. One application usually suffices; however, a second treatment may be prescribed after at least 7 days. Post-treatment itching, often lasting several weeks, typically results from an allergic reaction to dead mites and doesn't signify treatment failure. Minor burning, stinging, or tingling at the application site are common, relatively mild, and not universally experienced. Inform your doctor of any pre-existing skin conditions, medication allergies, food allergies, other substance allergies, or asthma prior to use. While generally safe, pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should consult their doctor before use.
